I have been thinking about Thanksgiving. I absolutely love reading about the different things people are thankful for (you know, the lovely Facebook statuses). 🙂

It’s a sweet reminder to think about all the things we can be thankful for.

I found a picture of a Thanksgiving Tree on a blog — you list all the things you are thankful for on little round decorative scrapbook paper and put it on the tree limbs. I LOVE it!

There is another aspect of Thanksgiving…The GIVING part.

It’s easy to give to someone who we love or has blessed us. Right?

Well  here is another way to think about giving…

I don’t think it’s an accident that the word “give” is in the word “forgive”.

There have been countless times that I have been forgiven and countless opportunities that I have forgiven others. Some easier and some not so much. Ever been there?

Sometimes those “forgiving” opportunities pop up during the holidays, ya know with your lovely family and all (Not my family of coarse). 🙂

I remember a specific situation when I had to forgive someone (forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling).

When I prayed about it, I really felt in my heart to give them money…SECRETLY.

So I hired a secret agent.

Proverbs 21:14 says “A gift in secret pacifies anger…”.

Do you know how good I felt after doing this?

So maybe you are reading this and you are dealing with a situation. Maybe you have been mistreated, misunderstood, or hurt.

I’ve been there and will be there again.

If you feel trapped by a situation because someone has hurt you or you need to forgive someone — maybe it’s time to give.

I’m not saying that you have to give them money. There are creative ways to give. God will show you.

I hope you were encouraged today! Joyfully His!

Is your “I” missing?

My husband and I just had a nice chat about faith this morning. I started thinking about faith — as we are trusting God in a situation right now (which you may be using your faith for something too).

When I look at the word FAITH, I think it’s interesting that there is an “I” in the middle. If you take away the “I”, you don’t have faith anymore. Interesting, eh?

The letter “I” has to be in the word faith, just like I have to be in faith for it to work.

Hebrews 6:12 says  “that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

This verse is such a great reminder that we will get those promises that God has promised us by putting our faith and patience to work.

My prayer is that I would allow patience to have its perfect work in me! James 1:4

I hope you were encouraged like I was today!

Joyfully waiting patiently! 🙂

Made For More

“Made For More” is one of the themes at the church we have been attending. I think sometimes we get comfortable in our lives and we continue to do the same things over and over and we end up getting the same results. Some good and some just mediocre.

Then frustration sets in.

Are you in the place where you want to SEE more, DO more, SAY more and LIVE more? I sure am! Join me in asking God — what MORE can I do to experience MORE!

Sometimes churches can be glorified clubs. (I’m sorry, I said it.) We see our friends, hear a sermon preached, grab lunch after church and we’re done. We think church is about “ME” (we forget the “OR” in the middle — the “OTHER REASONS” we’re here on earth).

There are enough clubs…where is the MORE?

As we reach out to others, we experience more. When we share our faith and love for Jesus with others, we experience MORE. It just overflows into our lives.

Ephesians 3:20 says “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,”

This verse definitely equals more! The “more” happens when we allow the power of Jesus to work in us and through us to bless a life.

Thanks for reading! You are made for more!

Joyfully His!
