Hit A Stop Sign?

Standard

So I was in a parking lot turning to go down another lane and I did it! First time EVER (I think).

I HIT a STOP SIGN! Yes, you heard me right. I HIT IT! THUMP! Hey, at least I didn’t hit a fire hydrant this time (I did that when I was in high school).

It definitely got my attention to stop! Needless to say, it gave me and some other people who I didn’t know (thank goodness) a good laugh.

Ok so here is my excuse…it’s my cars fault! 🙂 I love my car and am so super blessed to have it BUT I do have one complaint. There is an awful BLIND SPOT between the windshield and the door window.

The panel is HUGE so I have to look around it sometimes to make sure there isn’t something there.

So my lovely incident made me stop and think (get it…yea, I’m writing this late). Throughout my life I have encountered “blind spots”.

Unfortunately blind spots can lead to accidents.

I have great news! There is a solution to blind spots!

The verse that comes to mind is Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

I am thankful that God’s Word can help me in my walk with Him today (lamp to my feet – what is right before me) and tomorrow (light to my path – my future).

Thanks for reading! Have a JOY FILLED Christmas!

Your Answer is in the Secret

Standard

During a church service, the Pastor was ministering on how we are the light so he had the lights off in the sanctuary. My daughter tucked herself into her grandma’s sweater and said “I hiding, come on, hide Meana”.

Matthew 6:6 says – “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

I couldn’t help but think about Psalm 91:1 – “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

The word “secret” means hiding place or covering. A secret place is where you seclude yourself from everything…cell phone, computer, tv, iPad, iPod and the list goes on!

My daughter gets it! 🙂 She understands the hiding place.

Are you in a place in life where you are saying to God – “Where are YOU”? (I’ve been there)

He’s in the secret place.

As we dwell (continue to meet God) in the secret (secluded) place, we will abide (live) under the shadow (shade) of the Almighty.

If we’re consistent with meeting God in the secret place we will be living under the “shade” (which keeps us from getting burnt)!

I’m going to jump back to Matthew 6:6. “Reward” means – “give back, deliver (again), (re)pay, perform, restore”.

The word “openly” actually means “because of, quickly, shortly, throughout, while” and the list goes on.

When we meet God in the secret place He will give back, deliver, perform whatever we need shortly!

Those are some INCREDIBLE verses!

Please note, I am not a Greek or Hebrew scholar. I used my Strong’s Concordance to look up the verses, etc.

Your answer is in the secret place! Mine too!

Thanks for reading! Joyfully His!

“…but those who promote peace have joy.” Proverbs 12:20

I LOVE this verse! I think I have mentioned this before, peace and joy go hand in hand. This verse totally backs it up!

Do you feel like joy is non-existent in your home or in your workplace? Encourage peace into existence!

I know, I know…it’s easier said than done especially if we have people around us who have the “bah-humbug spirit”. Thank goodness for the “Barney’s” in this world. My daughter calls him happy.

When I think of a peacemaker I can’t help but think of “pacemaker”. Ya know, that little device that helps to regulate the heartbeat. Be that pacemaker that helps to stimulate peace.

Another definition of a pacemaker is one who sets the pace. I love it!

Set the PACE of PEACE!

Please hear me! Just because I am writing about this topic does not mean that I am perfect in this area. You can put the stones away. 🙂 I’m still a work in progress and then some!

I would like to leave you with this thought. A friend of mine posted this on Facebook (it was originally posted by Rita Springer):

“Let the refining and improving of your own life keep you so busy that you have little time to criticize others.”

I’d say that’s a good start to promoting peace which will in turn bring that JOY you need!

You have the peace that others need! You are valuable!

Thanks for reading! EnJOY your day, P(e)acemaker!
