Hope…things can only go up from here

I was thinking of the word hope and couldn’t help but picture a balloon floating in the air. Have you ever been holding a balloon by a string and then let it go? Once the balloon is released, it goes higher and higher.

How about an ice-cube in a glass of water? It gets dropped in and then pushes its way to the top.

It can’t help it.

Call it gravity or whatever, it still can’t help it. 🙂

Hope means expectation. Psalm 62:5 says “My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.”

What an incredible verse! I can’t think of a better “Person” to get my hope from. In this verse, the Hebrew definition for expectation is “cord”.

In my mind, I picture the string to the balloon as the “cord”, or expectation.  It’s tied to the balloon. I think you see where I’m going with this.

As we tie our string to the balloon and let it go, the sky is literally the limit. I do realize balloons can only go so high, but just imagine with me here, and turn off your brain. 🙂

As we tie our expectation to God, we are destined to go places. Be something. Do something.

This verse is a great encouragement and reminder to us. You may have set some goals to achieve in this new year. Fantastic! Expect great things as you connect yourself to God and allow Him to guide you.

As you drink your glass of water with ice, be reminded of hope!

Joyfully His! Thanks for reading! I hope you were encouraged! 🙂

Hope Minus The Less

Standard

Letchworth
During this season of life where it feels as if our Nation is crumbling, it’s easy for our emotions to take a ride on the rollercoaster of hopelessness.

Proverbs 13:12 says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”

This is a verse I have read many times but it really jumped out at me today. There have been times in my life that my hope has been “deferred” or postponed. When I have allowed other things to draw my hope away. You know the story, your heart gets weak, sick, tired, and grieved.

BUT when the desire comes — those things that you wish, dream and long for — it is a tree of life.

When we allow hope to be activated in our lives those things we desire become lively and active in our lives.

Many people set goals or resolutions for the New Year. If that’s your cup of tea, let me add some sugar to it (the healthy kind of course). Make a daily choice (I’m talking to myself as well) to allow hope to be activated in your heart.

Each of us has specific things that we are called to do in this life and with hope in our heart, we can’t be stopped!

I challenge myself and you to have HOPE minus the less!

Have a Victorious New Year! Thanks for reading!
