“I Happy”

Standard

As I was thoroughly enjoying my lovely stroll through Target the other night, I couldn’t help but notice a precious toddler coming down the center aisle. It wasn’t his looks or his cute little waddle that caught my attention, it was the fact that he was declaring for all of Target to hear, “I happy”!

Every few seconds, he would declare in a matter-of-fact-kind-of-way, “I happy”.

A sweet boy, who didn’t have a care in the world, was focused on the fact that he was happy, period.

As I was talking to God about a situation in my life, my mind replayed that sweet boy’s voice.

Naturally we think he’s just a small child, he doesn’t have any cares or worries. He is taken care of.

Who knows, he may have had a diaper full of lovely creations, but he made a choice to be happy.

I was reminded that I am taken care of. I don’t have to worry. I have Someone who is doing the caring for me.

I Peter 5:7 says “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”
I love how the Amplified Bible says it! Plus, the Amplified Bible uses a lot of words, like a woman. 🙂

As we cast all of our cares (every worry) on to Jesus, He will do the caring for us! This verse is one that gives me a sigh of relief. Like a weight has been lifted off of me.

What a great verse to read over and over! I encourage you to replay this verse over and over in your mind. My Pastor always says “Put the Word of God in you when you don’t need it so it will come out when you do!”

Be encouraged today! God is good and He truly cares for you!

En(courage)ment

Standard

My husband has been teaching our daughter about encouragement. He told her that she needs to encourage kids around her by telling them they are doing a good job. It is so sweet! She will put her hand on my arm and say “Good job, Mommy!”.

No matter who you are, a nice pat on the back every so often can do wonders!

I’m not talking about flattery. Flattery’s is insincere praise. It’s people pleasing at it’s best!

Encouragement defined: to inspire (someone) with the courage or confidence (to do something)

We as people thrive where we are “celebrated”, not “tolerated” (I can’t take credit for this…learned this from Pastor Jim). So why not celebrate someone in some way!

Celebrate them by encouraging them. Trust me, I’m working on doing this myself.

Society is about the big ME, what about the big E…Encouragement!

The verse that comes to mind is Proverbs 25:11 – “The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry,”  (Message Translation).

Wow! What woman wouldn’t like a custom-made piece of jewelry! 🙂

Not only is encouragement courageous, it’s CONTAGIOUS! When we start encouraging those around us, it creates a positive environment and makes people want to encourage others! Let’s be contagious with encouragement!
Thanks for reading! I hope you were encouraged today!

Encouragement

“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” Proverbs 15:23

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”        Ephesians 4:29

In the society we live in today it seems like criticism has become the more popular route. Most of the time, the media brings us bad news rather than good news. Wouldn’t you agree?

We have an opportunity to bless those around us with our mouths. Whether it’s just sending a quick email, writing a note to a friend or telling a co-worker that they are a blessing to work with.

I can’t tell you how many times we have received a note from our mentor at the right time! Ever experienced that before?

We definitely have enough Eeyore’s in the world! We need some more Barny’s. Ya know, Barnabas from the Bible? His name means “son of encouragement.”

My challenge for myself and I encourage you to do too: Find one person to encourage in some way every day! I’m not talking about blowing smoke but saying something that you truly mean.

An anonymous person wrote this:

A careless word may kindle strife,
A cruel word may wreck a life;
A timely word may lessen stress,
A loving word may heal and bless.

Thanks for reading! JOYfully His!
