The Best Way to Walk

Standard

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.”  Proverbs 20:7

We all know that what we do affects our children and this verse confirms it. Kids aren’t as interested in what we say as they are in what we do.

When I looked up the word integrity for this verse in my Strong’s Concordance it is defined as: “innocence, full, perfect (ion), simplicity, upright”. This is linked to another Hebrew definition. It defines it as “one of the epithets of the objects in the high priest’s breastplate as an emblem of complete Truth.”

I love that description! Integrity is COMPLETE truth. It is vital that as parents we are completely truthful with our kids (and obviously in all other areas of our lives too). It is completely clear in this verse that our children will be blessed if we walk in complete truth.

I’ve heard many people say that they told their kids a “white lie”. White lies are non-existent in my book because there isn’t anything “white” or “pure” about a lie.  Wouldn’t you agree?

It is so encouraging to know that my daughter will be blessed by my husband and I walking in complete truth. I want her to be blessed in all areas of her life! I’m sure you feel the same way about your kids (or future kids)!

Thanks for reading! I hope you were encouraged by God’s Word today!
